Board Member

Matt relocated to the Myrtle Beach area in 1996 from upstate New York after completing his undergraduate degree looking to get out of the snow and cold of the north. Matt immediately found a passion in serving people in the hospitality business working at the front desk of The Caravelle Resort. Matt quickly worked his way up at the resort working in a variety of positions before becoming general manager of a group of sister properties. Matt later became the first Director of Marketing for the resort management company, and created and launched the Vacation Myrtle Beach brand that all 14 resorts within the group currently fall under. In 2019, Matt was promoted to Chief Operating Officer of Vacation Myrtle Beach, a position he currently holds today.

Matt is actively engaged in the Myrtle Beach community to make it a better place to live, work, and visit. Matt currently serves on the board of directors for the Myrtle Beach Downtown Alliance, after recently completing a term on the board of directors with the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, including serving as the Chairman of the Board in 2019. Matt has volunteered for many charities over the years including more recently serving the Champion Autism Network and the American Cancer Society.
